Education is the backbone of a country. It makes a better person and helps to develop overall personality. ‘Knowledge is Power’ .Development task is only possible through education.
Country like Japan, Korea, and Switzerland have already proved that development is possible with human resource even in the absence of other natural resources like minerals and oil.
The notion of multi-university system has been perfecting in Nepal since 1900 AD to achieve extensive national development goals University has been riveting on higher education in recent
years. Only two universities were existence before 1990A.D, Tribhuvan University (established in 1959) and Mahendra Sanskrit University (established in 1985). After the restoration of democracy in 1900A.D Kathmandu University, Purbanchal University and Pokhara University were established and these universities accompanying T.U and MSU have been delivering various academic and technical program along with the help of many affiliated colleges of different parts of country. Besides, government established lord Buddha University on 10th November 2006 and Rajashree Janak University in 2017.
Likewise, Midwestern University and Far western University were established on 17 th June 2010 in Nepal. The prior mentioned details validate that prodigious growth in education has been taking place in Nepal to furnish higher education throughout the last three decades.
The extension of delivering higher education, University and affiliated colleges have been generating numerous of graduates on the one hand, and on the other hand the rate of educated unemployed has been increasing in the country. This arouses a veritable interrogation that the contemporary structure and pattern of higher education could serve the community.
